Overview
Full-Suite RBC Direct Investing provides cash, TFSA, RRSP and FHSA accounts without an account maintenance fee or minimum balance. Regular online and mobile stock and ETF trades cost $9.95 in the security's currency, except for selected commission-free ETFs. U.S. sales can also carry a regulatory assessment.
The separate GoSmart tier is limited to registered CAD accounts and includes 50 commission-free stock and ETF trades each calendar year, while the Active Trader rate requires substantial trading activity. Neither conditional tier changes the regular Full-Suite commission facts.
Full-Suite accounts can hold CAD and USD, but currency conversions include a tiered spread. Clients can use Online Investing, RBC Mobile or the Trading Dashboard, with streaming quotes, research, screeners and eligible dividend reinvestment.
